Hi.... I am searching for information on Aaron Huffman who m. Sally Wilson in Greenup Co. on Sep. 6, 1815. Aarons father was Jacob Huffman. Aaron had the following siblings: Elizabeth m. Joseph Willis Solomon Allen Simeon Polly m. John Miller Sallys mother was Mary Wilson. Apparently her father was deceased by the time she married. I believe her father was probably Thomas or Alexander. Is anyone working on this line? Vicky
Does anyone have a Joseph "Hooker" Cooper in there family? Greenup County, Probably born between 1860-1870, Possibly a brother named Wesley, I received this information from my Uncle who is in his late 80's and it is very hard to decipher what he says. (though every thing he has told me, even though I didn't understand at the time has been fact). He said the family lived in a town (25-30 families) that was burned down and the people run off because of Dyptheria, This "Town" (possibly Tongs) was the families that used Mt. Ebo Cemetery in Greenup County, Ky. Any help or info on this would be great, Thank you, Ed
Dear William, My Greenup Co. connections are to the POST line, but I was more interested in your note re: your gggrandmother, Martha Ann Messer. I have had a rough time researching the MESSER/MESSERITZ line. My gggrandmother was Sarah (Sally Ann) Messer/Messeritz b.Jan.12, 1824, Ohio??? d.aft.1863 in Adams Co. Ohio. Married to Issac Washburn (b.Nov.22, 1822, Ohio) approx.1843. There seems to be a strong Greenup Co.Ky.-Adams Co.Ohio connection, so I'm hoping you might have some additional info. Good luck on your search. Ed, Magoffin County does exist. I believe it's county seat would be Salyersville. It is geographically located in the eastern part of the state, somewhat southeast of Lexington and due south of Greenup County. Sherry, You wrote: Ed, why are all of Washington Hart and Elizabeth Blevins children named Blevins? Is it because they weren't married? You are right about Elizabeth never marrying. She had 4 children out of wedlock. 3 with Washington Hart and 1 with a Jesse Lynch. Remebering this was the early 1800's she sounds pretty "wild" for her day. She was my Great Great Grandmother from my Blevins side of the family. Ed Cooper

Hi, I to am looking for the parents of a William Cooper, (My grandfather) He was born in Greenup County, KY on August 20, 1884. His fathers name is listed on his death certificate as a Wesley Cooper, His mother as a Mary Jane Watkins. I have been unable to find any info on them at all. William had a brother named Tom Cooper who married Myrtle Penix. Myrtle was born May 3, 1894 married Tom Cooper on May 31, 1917 died Feb. 15, 1977. Tom Cooper born on June 13, 1887, and died April 20, 1966. All in Greenup County, Ky. William was married to Mary Dicey Blevins on September 27, 1910, and died on September 27, 1959. His wife Mary Dicey Blevins was born on March 30, 1896, and died on October, 3, 1941. She was the daughter of Peter Blevins from Ashe County, NC and an Elizabeth Meadows. Nothing is known of Elizabeth except she had something to do with the Gilbert Penix and Eada Meadows family of Greenup County, Both of Mary Blevins parents died when she was young and she was raised by an unknown Meadows family. Any info on Wesley Cooper, Mary Jane Watkins or Elizabeth Meadows will be greatly appreciated. Thank you all. Ed Cooper
