    1. [KYGREENU-L] 1850 Census of Greenup County, Ky
    2. Barbara Carmichael. Recently responded to a query I had about Census of Greenup County, Ky. does anyone have any of these people in there families? I believe the last William Cooper listed is the William Cooper that Randall Cooper has been searching for his parents so very hard. Thanks for any help. Ed I was looking for my greatgrandfather's family, the Chapmans. I remembered reading the List about someone looking for the Coopers and decided to jot this information down. The handwriting of the census taker was awful. I couldn't read some of it and for some strange reason, half of the names were just initials. I only looked up the 1850 census on this day. Hope it helps. Barbara Worthington Carmichael 1850 Greenup Census Name Age Sex Born In Occupation Cooper John 57 M Ky Rebecca 54 F PA ? 3. I am also searching along the same family lines. My descendants are both Robert Hannah and his brother William. I will use Hannah instead of Hanner/Hanners, they are all the same family but was mispronounced and written Hanner/Hanners. Your George was a brother to my Alexander their father was Robert. I do have records of Robert, William and their brother "Alexander" signing the Oath of Fidelity in Hartford County, Maryland, in 1778, during the revolutionary war. My records show your George was born in 1797 in NC as yours do. Robert and family show up in Greenup Co. KY by 1806. Brother William marries Lucy Penn in Henry Co. VA, April 16, 1787, and shows up in the Greenup Co.census in 1820, probably arriving about 1813. I'm not sure what happened to Alexander. Our line may have originated in NC or Maryland and had relatives in NC. This is where the going gets really rough. William claimed he with in the Charles Co.Maryland militia during the revolution but, as yet, not been proven. I'll be looking soon into Maryland records, and NC too. You might check there, I'll let you know if I find anything. 3. Hi Clarence, I just spoke with my mother, Leola Rayburn Doerflein, who was born on Long Branch, between Argillite and Oldtown. I knew her aunt Lucy Rayburn married a Willard Hannahs. She said she thought they used both spellings. She knew some who spelled their name as you do, and when she questioned the difference in spelling, she was told they didn't like to spell it with an 'h' on the end. Do you have any record of a Willard Hannahs? He and Lucy had one child Edna Hannahs. Edna was born abt. 1914 and just died in the last year or so. Are there any Rayburn researchers out there. My great grandfather was Thomas Sellards Rayburn. He had several brothers and sisters. This is my Rayburn line.
