Please join me in thanking Tina Evans for the contribution of Kehoe Cemetery http://www.rootsweb.com/~kygreen2/kehoecemtry3.html to the Greenup County KYGenWeb site. Its a great listing! I have a few more contributions to post and am behind in posting contributions. To everyone waiting, I'm about done! Weekends playing with triplet nephews and weekends on the road to Berea to visit my oldest son has put a wrench in my time management skills : ) Laura *************************** Laura's pages for Homeschooling, Gardening, and Genealogy are found here: http://home.att.net/~ekyorigins yahoo id: ekyorigins ***************************

I wonder if Isom Brown was born in Greenup or perhaps if he was born in Morgan County where Isom is a common first name? Maybe the family moved to Greenup from Morgan? Its a long shot but worth a try anyway. After searching for ten years, I just found that my ggf was born in Greenup County in 1873. His name was James Young Brown, and all I know is that he had a brother, slightly older, named Isom. James married Namcy Melvina Ann Pryor on Christmas Day, 1894. Nancy mostly went by the name Vina, so there have been lots of dead ends. There is a possibility that James' father was named Joseph, but I have nothing to verify this. If anyone has any info, please contact me directly. It will be truly appreciated.
Obituary for Joseph Felty (not dated): Joseph Felty Rites Thursday Petoskey - Services for Joseph Felty will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. from the Peters Funeral Home, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. He was 77 years old. Mr. Felty was born Dec. 17, 1873, in Greenup County, KY. Before coming to Petoskey eight years ago he lived in Antrim County 35 years. Surviving are his wife, Julia; five daughters, Mrs. Merton Chew, Mrs. Charles Amacher and Mrs. Vinard Howell of Petoskey, Mrs. Glenn Lewis of Galesburg and Mrs. Mark Milford of St. Ignace.
Hello Bruce and y'all, Re: Felty's, I believe Martha died young and there is a good chance that Benjamin went to Mancelona or Central lake, Michigan with his older 1/2 brother "Joe" Felty. Joe is listed in a picture of foundry workers in Mancelona and Ben married my grandmother there in 1914. May just be a coincidence but I feel there is a connection. Can not find Ben in 1900 Census. He would be about 9 Years old. Re: Traylor family, My aunt Nannie Collins married a Dennis Traylor in Greenup County, Ky. Early 1900's Greenup cemetary listings show a Traylor cemetary on the right fork of Smith Branch in Greenup. I have not seen it so have no details. I will be talking with my Traylor relatives soon and will try to get more details on there line. I have been to the Collins cemetary on Rt. Fork Smith Branch. It is in the woods on top of the ridge. It is hard to get to and harder to find. Many of these old cemetaries are on private property and are not maintained. Garry R. In the 1900 Greenup Census, James Felty age 17, and Charles Felty age 14, are living with James G. Thompson (father of Nancy) and Millie (Truitt) Whitt Thompson and are listed as grandsons. ( James G. Thompson's first wife was Clarissa Jones. Many years after her death he married the widow of Jonas Whitt.) I had assumed that James and Charles Felty were children of Nancy's? In 1910, Millie E. Felty age 17 is listed as a niece and living with William Randolph Whitt (son of Jonas and Millie) and his wife Mary, (daughter of James G. and Clarissa Thompson.) Where were Benjamin and Martha living in 1900? My husband is descended from Nancy Thompson's brother, John William Thompson. Cindy Lowe [email protected]

Dear List, I am posting this query again. I am still looking for any information on this family. I would love to have a copy of the marriage certificates for Nancy Bush to Sampson Bredon (Braden) and then Nancy Braden to William Montgomery. Sampson Bredon(Braden) married Nancy Bush 9 Sep 1856 in Greenup County, Kentucky Sampson Braden listed in the 1860 Greenup County Census as follows: Sampson Braden age 41, occupa. farmer Prop. Val 700 Estate Val 700 b. Tennessee Nancy Braden age 21 b. Kentucky William Braden age 22, occupa. farmer b. Virginia Elizabeth age 20, b Virginia John age 13, b. Virginia Sarah age 13, b. Virginia Nevada age 2, b. Kentucky Basil age 11/12, b. Kentucky I believe Sampson Braden died before 1867 because Nancy Braden married William A. Montgomery 9 April 1867. William A. Montgomery in the 1870 Greenup Census as follows: Wm. A. Montgomery age 29 Teamster b. West Virginia Nancy Montgomery age 31 Keeping house b. Kentucky Tho. M. Montgomery age 2 b. Kentucky Bird L. Montgomery age 7/12 b. Kentucky Nevada Braden age 12 b. Kentucky Basil Braden age 10 b. Kentucky William and Nancy Montgomery in the 1880 Daviess County Census as follows: Montgomery W. A. age 39 farmer b. Virginia, Father b. Virginia, Mother b. Virginia Montgomery Nancy age 40 keeping house b. Kentucky, both of her parents b. KY Montgomery Burdell age 10 b. Kentucky Montgomery Charles age 8 b. Kentucky Montgomery Mary age 5 b. Kentucky Montgomery Ira age 7M b. Kentucky Basil Braden is my great grandfather. I would like to know Nancy's parents and when Sampson Braden died. I believe that there is a Braden cemetery off of Hoods Run Road in Greenup. Do you know if this cemetery has been transribed? I believe that Nancy Bush Braden Montgomery died in Vigo County, Indiana although I have not been able to verify that information. Any help would be greatly appreciated and if we connect I will be happy to share any information you might like. Linda Braden Gray
