How bad is it up there? I visited late summer and Mr. Hunt explained that several years prior to my visit, a group had went in and cut down sapplings and brush. For an old cemetery on top of a hill, I thought it looked great. Mr. Hunt told me at that time that someone was going to have to take over keeping it cleared and that was at least two summers ago.

    1. Kentucky Death Certificate CD
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/1AB.2ACI/3760 Message Board Post: I have finally gotten around to making My Kentucky Death Certificate CD number Two. Here are the rules and the changes for contributing and obtaining a CD. 1. you MUST submit atleast 5 death certificates to the project. I would prefer the Death Certificates to be hard copies mailed to me at my home address. The reason I am requesting hard copies is that I would like to donate them to the library here in town. However, if it isn't possible I know some people have them on their computer and not a hard copy. Then they must be sent to me as a JPEG and I HAVE TO know in ADVANCE before you send them so my inbox doesn't become over loaded. 2. The Death Certificate MUST have a Kentucky connection. 3. It was requested last time that there be some contact information on the Death Certificate. This is to difficult for me to do or to time consuming, but if you want to hand write your e-mail address on the Death Certificate this would be a great way to pass along the information in case someone sees a connection. 4. The price has gone up. Last time it actually cost me money to make the CD so this time the cost is $3.00 per CD. Yes, you can order more than one CD but remember there is a minimum of 5 Death Certificates per CD. The reason for the minimum is that I want to fill up the CD to make it more useful for all. Right now I have approximately 1,000 death certificates and the CD will hold about 2,000. The last CD contained 1,940 Death certificates. 5. Checks and DC's Can be mailed to me at Cassy Sommers 1407 Woodwind Ct Corbin, Kentucky 40701 6. There will be no exceptions this time the CD will go out by January 15th with or without the 2,000 DC's if we get that many before the 15th it will go out sooner. Hope all will join in and please feel free to pass this message around to anyone who has a Kentucky connection. Cassy. PS visit me at Tombstone Central

I tried to obtain copies of an 1870's Greenup County divorce case from the Kentucky Department of Libraries and Archives, but they said that they do not have the records there and referred me back to the county. I know that Greenup has had some courthouse disasters. Just thought I would ask before contacting the county clerk. Thanks!

I found the cemetery on Fairview Rd off of Route 7 to Maloneton. The cemetery itself was pretty overgrown. Doesn't look like anyone has been up there in at least a year. There were some fairly recent burials though. There was another sign up in the cemetery asking for help to keep it mowed or cleaned up. I would love to help, if I only I didn't live all the way up in Dayton, OH. Didn't find George Imes grave, either the stone is gone/eroded or I couldn't find it in the tall grass. But at least I tried, and it was an adventure. Thanks again for your input.
