Mattingly was a member of the St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church and a retired farmer. He was married to Alice Bertha Spalding, who died 16 Nov 1956. He is survived by 9 daughters and 6 sons - Mary E. Thompson and Alice Rosa Smith of Campbellsville; Betty Thornton and Barbara Mattingly of Lebanon; Mary Frances Daugherty of Louisville; Edith Marie Daugherty, Nancy Gayle Mattingly, Amy Jo Mattingly and Catherine Louise Mattingly of Lebanon; Earl Mattingly, Jr. Of Bloomfield, Conn; George Thomas Mattingly of Campbellsville, Joseph Lize Mattingly of Frankfort; and John Richard Mattingly, William Carl Mattingly and James R ichard Mattingly of Lebanon. Funeral services were at 10 am Sat., 27 Sep at the St. Auguestine Catholic Church in Lebanon by Rev. Roger Boemike. Burial followed in the St. Augustine Church Cem. Obituaries of Green Co. Ky.
