Rev. V. A. Jones was in charge of services. Burial was in the Davis Cemetery. The son of the late John Close and Mrs. Elizabeth Cantrell Close, he was born in Green County August 8, 1867. He was a member of Hodges Chapel Methodist Church. He was united in marriage to Miss Martha Larimore. She preceded him in death 54 years ago. To this union one son and two daughters were born. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William Coffey and Mrs. E. S. Rayburn; one brother, Jim Close of Donansburg; three sisters, Mrs. Betty Ford of Mt. Sherman, Mrs. Sarah Milby of Gabe and Mrs. June Bybee of Donansburg. Pallbearers were Sidney Wright, Harvey Hood, Earnest Simpson, Luther Davis, Huston Landis, and Irline O'Banion.
