Author: Karen_Jorgensen Surnames: Hayes, Atwell, Durrett, Davenport, Riley, Classification: obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.green/17722/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Hayes, daughter of the late Ed Atwell and Loutishia Durrett Atwell, was born March 3, 1904 in Green County, and departed this life January 17, 1979 at the Southwest Jefferson Hospital in Louisville. She was 74 years, 10 months and 15 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church at the time of her death. Mrs. Hayes was united in marriage in 1960 to Orvel Hayes, who survives. She is also survived by one daughter, Mrs. Rollin Davenport, Greensburg, and one step-daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Jean Riley, Louisville, and one step-son, James Steven Hayes, Munfordville. One sister, Mrs. Noah Davenport, Greensburg, survives. Other survivors, include three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild, along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 1979, w! ith burial in the Davenport Cemetery. Rev. M.J. Logsdon officiated. Pallbearers were Claude Atwell, Shelby Patterson, Glenn Atwell, Ricky Atwell, Kendall Curry, and. Mark Mendal. Obituaries of Green Co.
