Daughter of the late James Lee and Perry Lee Cabble Vaughn, she was born on July 5, 1919, in Green County. She was a member of Pleasant Run Baptist Church. She was married to Wesley Maddox Sr. on Feb. 6, 1936. He preceded her in death in October 1977. Survivors include a son, Wesley Maddox Jr. of Louisville, Ky.; four daughters and a son-in-law, Elizabeth and Clifford Patton, Gloria Sebastion, Gladys Maddox and Perry Maddox, all of Campbellsville; a brother, Earle Vaughn of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sisters, Claudia V. Hopkins of Indianapolis and Bertha V. Brown of Hollywood, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Jeannie Vaughn and Maxine Maddox, both of Campbellsville; a special sister friend, Corine Pendleton Walker of Kirksey, Ky.; 23 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three ch! ildren, James W. Maddox, Johnny O. Maddox and Lyman Terry Maddox; and 12 brothers and sisters. Funeral was Friday, March 7 at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg. The Revs. George Nelson and James Jackson officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Run Cemetery in Green County. Pallbearers were her grandsons and great-grandsons, Jon Pierre' Hawkins, Travis Price, Anthony R. Maddox, James W. Maddox, Tracy L. Maddox and James Price. Honorary pallbearers were Sanja Wesley, James M. Taylor, William Haskins, Wayne Wells, Clem Haskins, Taylor County Judge/Executive Eddie Rogers, Eddie Hazelwood, Fred Wagner, George Johnson Jr., Harlan Groves, Samuel L. Underwood, Omega B.
