Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, Ky. Son of the late Henry Maxey Pennington and Ruby Robertson Pennington, he was born on July 9, 1939 in Hart County, Ky. He was married to Rita Calhoun Pennington, who survives. Survivors also include five daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Floyd Poynter Jr., Janet and Wayne Hayes and Diane and Doug Hayes, all of Horse Cave, Kandy and Jeff Fields of Edmonton, Ky., and Sandy and Alex Villarreal of Cave City, Ky.; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Roger and Sheila Pennington of Center, Ky., Johnnie and Mandy Pennington of Greensburg, Ky., Tony Pennington of Horse Cave and James Pennington of Glasgow; two sisters, Naomi Riordan of Hardyville, Ky., and Margie Helen Blair of Fountain Run, Ky.; three brothers, Melvin Pennington of Munfordville, Ky., Leroy Pennington of Glasgow and Bill Pennington of Cave City; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandch! ildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Pennington; and a brother, Tommy Pennington. Funeral was Sunday, March 2 at Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville. Bro. Ronald Riordan officiated. Burial was in Whickerville Cemetery in Horse Cave. Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg was in charge of arrangements.
