He was living by himself near the S. V. Mills & Son store, but at the time of his death one of his sons, Everett was visiting him. They were out in the yard talking, Mr. Jeffries in a chair leaning back against a tree, when his son noticed him falling forward. He was dead by the time his son reached him. Uncle Cager had spent his entire life in the community in which he died and was highly respected by all who knew him. Burial was in the Edwards cemetery Monday. Surviving are the following children, Mike Jeffries, Willie Jeffries, Everett Jeffries, Mrs. O. J. Carter, Mrs. Mearl Matney and Mrs. Kemp Hendricks. Obituaries of Green Co.
