Henderson and Mrs. Mattie Phillips Henderson was born in Green County December 2, 1917 and departed this life Monday, August 3, 1970 at 1:15 p.m. at the Community Hospital in Glasgow. She was 52 years of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Little Barren Separate Baptist Church at the time of her death. She united in marriage to Mr. Herford Franklin December 1931 and he preceded her in death August 16, 1943. To this union were born 2 sons and 2 daughters. Surviving are Mrs. Valera Carol Huddleston, Chicago, IL., Mrs. Joan Sulenski, Ashton, IL., TSGT Herford Wayne Franklin, Jr., stationed with the US. Army in Honolulu, Hawaii. One son Edwin Randal Franklin preceded his mother in death March 1, 1964. She is also survived by her stepmother, Mrs. Lillie Henderson of Greensburg; one half-brother R. T. Henderson, Knoxville, Tenn., and one half-sister Rachel Patterson of Greensburg! and 8 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 5 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with Rev. James Jones officiating. Burial was in the Old Liletown Cem. Obituaries of Green Co.
