Light, son of the late Mr. Thomas Light and Mrs. Eliza Rogers Light, was born January 11, 1889 in Green County and departed this life at 8:15 P.M. Friday, September 30, 1977 at the Sunrise Manor in Hodgenville. He was 88 years, eight months and 19 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church at the time of his death. He united in marriage to Miss Bessie Scott, who preceded him in death September 7, 1943. To this union were born four sons and one daughter; Surviving are: Mrs. John David Smith, Glasgow; C.L. Light, Louisville, and J.T. Light, Glasgow. He united in marriage to Mrs. Zelda Ennis September 21, 1944, who survives. Mr. Light is also survived by one stepdaughter: Mrs. Ural Davis, Greensburg; two stepsons: Verman Ennis, Greensburg and Vester Ennis, Louisville, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren and 13 step-great grandchildren and host of other relatives and ! friends, one stepson Aubrey Verlan Ennis preceded him in death April 23, 1977. Funeral services were 2 P.M. Sunday, October 2, 1977 at the Shady Grove Baptist Church with burial in the Rock Cemetery. Rev. Oscar Pogue officiating. Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home were in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers: Keith Light, Steve Ennis, Marshall Davis, Bob Hudson, Ronnie Young, Ronnie Thurman, and Joe Jolly.
