Son of the late Frank Tate Sr. and Margaret Johnson, he was born on Jan. 14, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include two sons, Robert Tate and Chris Tate, both of Colorado; a brother, Lawrence Tate of Indiana; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Beryl Perkins. Cremation was chosen. Funeral was Tuesday, April 8, at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg.
