Author: Karen_Jorgensen Surnames: Leftwich, Hay, Miller, Wilson, Shuffett, Shirrell, Blakeman, Caldwell Classification: obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.green/17826/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Mr. Chandler Leftwich, son of the late Mr. John Taylor Leftwich and Mrs. Nora Hay Leftwich, was born February 23, 1905 in Green County and departed this life at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 1979 at the McDowell Skilled Nursing Facility in Greensburg. He was 74 years, one month and 9 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church at the time of his death. Mr. Leftwich had been a welder in Green County for 34 years. He united in marriage to Miss Gladys Miller December 23, 1926, who survives. To this union were born two sons and one daughter: Colva Leftwich, Summersville; Coakley Leftwich, Greensburg and Mrs. Wilma Shuffett, Louisville. Mr. Leftwich is also survived by three sisters: Mrs. Pernie Shirrell, Greensburg; Mrs. Mable Blakeman and Mrs. Lovie Caldwell, both of Columbia; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild and host of other relatives and friends. The remains were at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home ! where funeral services were conducted Thursday, April 26, 1979, with burial in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Rev. Gary Ervin officiated. Pallbearers were: Paige Sullivan, James Taylor Moore, Billy Gene Clark, Phillip Robertson, Loren Nunn, Eules Lowe. Obituaries of Green Co. Ky.
