"Ned" Jeffries 77 a 52 - year resident of Danville, Indiana and native of Green Co., died Wed. Apr 23. Jeffries came to Danville from Indianapolis in 1923. In 1965 he retired as a self-employed trucker. He previously worked 10 years for the former Danville Brick Co. In Indianapolis, he worked as a motorman for the local trolley system. He was a former member of the Vermilion Heights Christian Church and the local Moose Lodge. He attended schools in Pierce, Ky. Born 16 Oct 1902 in Pierce, he was a son of John C. and Elizabeth Foley Jeffries. On October 26, 1925 in Danville, he married LaVina Hardesty. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Bill C. of Miami and Jerry L. of Danville; and a granddaughter, Cindy of Miami. He was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.
