Matherley, 76, daughter of the late Mr. Peter D. Elmore and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Close Elmore, was born July 16, 1902, in Green County and departed this life at 4 a.m., Wednesday, January 10, at the McDowell Wing in Greensburg. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Taylor's Chapel Methodist Church. She united in marriage to Mr. Harry Matherley November 22, 1931, and he preceded her in death, January 3, 1972. Mrs. Matherley is survived by one brother: J. F. Elmore, Summersville; one half-sister: Mrs. Maude Warren, Elizabethtown; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 1p.m., Thursday, January 11, at the Taylor's Chapel Methodist Church by Rev. Milton Judd and Rev. Stephen Parker. Burial was in the Taylor Chapel Cemetery, Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements. Pallbearers were Timmy England, Dannie Nelson, David Warren, Elmer Warren.
