She was born in Green County on March 25, 1912, to the late Clem Beard and Nancy Wade Beard. She was a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Davenport. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Shirrell of Greensburg; one son, Joe Davenport of LaGrange; three brothers, Abel Beard and Clem Taylor Beard of Greensburg, and Lucian Beard of Illinois; two sisters, Margaret Tucker of Florida and Pearl McGinnis of Greensburg; one granddaughter, Sherry Shirrell; two step-grandchildren, Mark Brizendine and Lisa Brizendine; and one great-grandchild, Ben Brizendine. Funeral services were held Sunday, August 2, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home with burial in the Greensburg Cemetery. Rev. Dale Curry officiated over the service with music provided by Be! tty Jo Larimore. Pallbearers were Billy H. Squires, Arlie Wilson, Sonny Pickett, Doug Pickett, Joe Davis and Eugene Coffey.
