Monday at Bethlehem Baptist Church for Overton F. (Ote) Hatcher, who died at his home on Depot Street here at 9:00 p. m. Saturday, July 18 at the age of 69 years. He had been in declining health for the past several months. Rev. Caffee was in charge of the services, assisted by Rev. Coy Jeffries and Rev. J. V. Case. Burial was in the church cemetery. The son of the late William Hatcher and Mrs. Bettie Ingram Hatcher, he was born in Adair County, Ky., August 15, 1883. He professed faith in Christ at an early ago in life and united with the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. He later joined with his family the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church of which he remained a member until death. He was united in marriage to Miss Edna Mitchell, October 1903 and to this union two sons and two daughters were born: Harold Overton Hatcher, Indianapolis, Ind., Bruce Wilson Hatcher, West Lafayette, Ind., Mrs. Elizabeth Dodd, Bloomington, Ind., Mrs. Julia Diggs, Sac! ramento, Calif. On October 4, 1933 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Bessie Wright Hickerson. To this union one son, J. A. Hatcher, of Greensburg, was born. He is also survived by one step-daughter, Mrs. Geneva Hickerson Moran, Indianapolis, Ind. Besides his wife and children, he is survived by two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Pinkie Shively, Campbellsville; Mrs. Lizzie Gaines, Greensburg, and Joshua Hatcher, Borger, Texas; 13, grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
