V. Taylor, a wellknown buisness man of this city, who had just stepped out of Warren White's store, who shot at Skaggs five times. Three bullets struck the building occupied by J. C. Morrison a few feet east of the corner, two of these, it is thought came very close to killing Skaggs as he was wounded on each side of the head near the ear, one bullet glancing around the skull. He fell against a telephone pole close by and was removed to Dr. R. M. Taylors office. The doctor was out of town as also was Dr. J. J. Booker. The latter was soon on the ground and found the young man had recieved two other wounds, one on the back of the left hand and one in the left shoulder which ranged downward injuring the lung. The doctor dressed the wounds and he was removed to his home, where he is doing as well as possible althou! gh the bullet which struck the lung has not been located. Immediately after the shooting Mr. Taylor surrendered to Deputy Sherrif W. L. Marshall and was released on bond. He left Wednesday for Bowling Green to see his mother who resides in that city. Family trouble is the cause of the shooting. Record Herald February 3, 1922 Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
