He was 78 years, nine months and 23 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church. He is also a veteran of World War II, where he served in the United States Army. He united in marriage to Miss Betty Hagan on January 22, 1946, who survives. He is also survived by one brother: Mitchell Davenport of North Carolina; also by: Bryan and Vickie Johnson of Elizabethtown, Terry and Gail Drake of Louisville, Sandra Gumm of Munfordville, Patricia Higgason of Munfordville, Bobby Beauchamp of Greensburg, and Debra Bishop of Greensburg; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by Larry Beauchamp. Funeral services for John Arthur Davenport were conducted Wednesday, March 18, at ! the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Macedonia Cemetery. Rev. Larry Wisdom and Rev. Michael E. Davis officiated. Pallbearers were Eyvind Davis, Jim O'Banion, Hobert Moran, Michael Davis, Twyman Lobb, William Coffey, Loy Jones, Sammy Bonta and Charles Davenport. Obituaries of Green Co. Ky.
