She professed faith in Christ at the age of 13, and lived a true and faithful Christian while she lingered here on earth. She was married to William Rice Gilpin, Dec. 1895 who preceded her in death 14 years. To this union was born 3 girls and 4 boys, one who died shortly after birth, James Gilpin. She leaves behind to mourn her going, Mrs. Clavis Gilpin, Lexington, Ky., Mrs. Amanda Hancock, Greensburg, Mrs. Idellce Dohoney, Bordin, Ind., Pfc. William Talmage Gilpin, Camp Kelmer, N.J., Mr. Elroy Gilpin, Louisville, Ky., Mrs. Elvia Doris Nofs, Louisville, Ky.
