He was a son of the late Felix and Lula [Gentry] Gentry, and was a native of Hart county. Mr. Gentry was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Susan Gentry; three sons, Verlon, Gerthie, and Buford Gentry, all of Greensburg; five daughters, Mrs. Willis Judd, Mrs. Owen Judd, Mrs. Varnam Cook, and Miss Ruby Gentry, all of Greensburg, Mrs. Clifford Hedgespeth, Taylor County; two-half brothers, Sidney Wright, Greensburg, Pete Wright, Louisville; three half-sisters, Mrs. Clarence Bonta, Greensburg, Mrs. Glenn Carter and Mrs. Tommie Wright, Campbellsville, and twelve grandchildren. Funeral services were held November 25 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ellis Marcum and Rev. Carlos Compton officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Obituaries of Green Co.
