F. Marshall and Mrs. Christina Calhoon Marshall, was born October 14, 1899 in Green County and departed this life at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 27,1970, at the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church at the time of her death. She united in marriage to Mr. William D. Hodges November 28, 1917 who survives. To this union were born two daughters and two sons. Surviving are: Mrs. Broadus Akin and Mrs. Calvin Paxton, both of Greensburg and Joe Tommy Hodges of Summersville. David Hodges preceded his mother in death October, 1949. Mrs. Hodges is also survived by three sisters: Mrs. Louella Shreve, Mrs. Guy Lowe and Mrs. Christine Milby, all of Greensburg; one brother: Mr. Joe Perry Marshall, Greensburg; six grandchildren: Mrs. David Cowherd, Dayton, Ohio; Mr. Jerry L. Akin, Lexington, Ky., Mr. David A. ! Akin, Oceanside, California; Miss Kathy Jo Paxton and Miss Tena Marie Paxton, both of Greensburg; Miss Sarah Marie Hodges of Summersville and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 4 p.m. Friday, May 29, 1970 at the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church with burial in the Greensburg Cemetery. Rev. Calvin Mouser officiated. Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Active Pallbearers were Leland Caulk, Danny Creason, Marshall Lowe, O'Connell Milby, Carter Lee Hicks and Jack Twyman. Honorary pallbearers were Woodson Turner, Alonzo Larimore. Roy Milby, Garnett Milby, John Ed Hancock, Jodie DeSpain and Charlie DeSpain. Obituaries of Green Co.
