Gardner died June 1, 1944, in St. Joseph hospital, Bloomington, IL. The body was taken to the Beck Memorial home where the funeral was held Saturday morning at ten o'clock by the pastor of the Gospel Mission. Mr. Gardner was born Dec. 23, 1884 in Green County, Ky. where he made his home until he moved to Bloomington, IL. in 1924. He was married to Lillie Price. To this union was born three children, Allen Gardner of Bloomington, IL., Mrs. Alice Simpson, Greensburg. An infant son Robert and Mrs. Gardner preceded him in death several years ago. He is also survived by two brothers and one sister, James Gardner, Greensburg, Ky., Jerry Gardner, Sherman, Texas, Mrs. L. M. Guthrie, Texas, and several grandchildren. He was a member of the Baptist Church and lived a faithful Christian life. His nephew E. F. Gardner of Indianapolis, Ind. attended the funeral. Obituaries of Green Co.
