She died Friday, April 14, 2000, in Campbellsville. She was 82 years old. She was instrumental in establishing the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Columbia and the Adair County Public Library. She was a former employee of the Kentucky Cabinet for Human Resources. She united in marriage to Hugh L. Abell on October 16, 1939. He preceded her in death November 11, 1985. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Edwin R and Pat Abell of Campbellsville; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Alyson and Dale Thompson of Summersville and grandson, Shaun Abell of Stanford; two great-grandchildren: Haley Jean Abell of Campbellsville and William Robert Payton Thompson of Summersville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Monday, April 17, at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help! Catholic Church in Campbellsville by Rev. Jack Caldwell. Burial was in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Shaun P. Abell, Bennie Curry, Max Leach, Dale Thompson, Morris Tucker, Jr., and John Waldrop. The family requests that expressions of sympathy be donations to the Adair County Public Library or the Taylor County Public Library. Obituaries of Green Co.
