Services held at the Pierce Methodist Church were in charge of Rev, L. C. Risen and Rev. Ray Crenshaw, and burial was in the family cemetery. Mrs. Bishop, the daughter of the late Jim Houk and Martha Ann Lile was born May 17, 1876. She was united in marriage in 1893 to William Virgie Bishop and to this union 8 children were born. Her husband and 5 children preceded her in death. She was a member of the Pierce Methodist Church. Surviving are 3 children, Mrs. Loysbel Curry, and Vonnie Bishop, Pierce, and Gloda Bishop, Hardyville. Also surviving are one half-brother, Eura Houk, Pierce, and 4 grandchildren and 1 great grand-child.
