He was the son of the late Steve Allen and Adaline Williams Coomer of Adair County. Mr. Coomer was a retired farmer and retired from Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, and was a member of the Cane Valley Apostolic Church. Mr. Coomer is survived by his wife: Mattie Lee Pierce Coomer of Columbia; one son: Johnny Robert Coomer of Campbellsville; five daughters: Corine Dobson of Campbellsville, Mildred Richardson of Campbellsville, Regina Hoots of Columbia, Velma Atwood of Greensburg, and Geraldine McGinnis of Campbellsville; 25 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 9, at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Clark and Sister Evelyn Abbott officiating. Interment was in the Haven Hill ! Cemetery in Columbia. Active pallbearers were Anthony Atwood. Barry Coomer, Howard Dobson, Jr., Stevie Hoots, Wendell McGinnis and James Richardson. Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Atwood, Kevin Atwood, Tommy Atwood, Jonathan Coomer, Matthew Coomer, Ricky Coomer, Jeff Hoots, Alphus McGinnis and Timmy Richardson. Obituaries of Green Co. Ky.
