He professed faith in Christ early in life. He united in marriage to Miss Artie Owsley Moran November 5, 1911 and she preceded him in death June 1, 1960. Surviving are 2 sons and 3 daughters: Rollin Davenport, Greensburg; Mitchell Davenport, Mount Carroll, Illinois; Mrs. Evelyn Woodruff, Elizabethtown; Mrs. Catherine Mays and Mrs. Geraldine Hamilton, both of Greensburg. Garnett Davenport was killed in action during World War II. Also surviving is one brother: Mr. Noah T. Davenport, Greensburg; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, April 8 at the Cowherd-Parrott Funeral Home with the Rev. R. A. Slinker and Rev. Jimmy Knifley officiating. Burial in the Davenport Cemetery.
