She was a housewife and a member of the Aetna Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Whitlow; a son, Rodney Whitlow; a sister, Lachie Gardner; two brothers, Arthur Akin and Marvin Akin. She is survived by a daughter, Betty Moss of Summersville; two grandsons, Phillip Moss and Keith Whitlow; three great-grandchildren, Nicholas Allen Moss, Cody Wade Moss and Bethany Whitlow; and a sister, Josie Hall of Summersville. Funeral services were held Monday, April 13, at the Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with burial in the Aetna Grove Church Cemetery near Summersville. Rev. Gary Duckett officiated.
