Sonnie Cordell Blaydes, son of the late Mr. John I. Blaydes and Mrs. Donnie Dial Blaydes, was born July 27, 1921, in Metcalfe County and departed this life on Thursday, December 24, 1998, at the Audubon Hospital in Louisville. He was 77 years, four months and 27 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the United Christian Church and also the Ministerial Association. He united in marriage to Miss Mary Drusilla Mouser on July 3, 1942, who survives. To this union were born two sons and three daughters: Henry Ford Blaydes of Valley Station, Mary Alice Dunbar of Louisville, Velma Lee Stillwell of Mt. Washington, Joseph Blaydes of Mableton, Georgia, and Doris Marlene Willard of Louisville. He is also survived by five sisters and two brothers: Lucille Whitlock of Edmonton, Emeline Mouser of New Albany, Indiana, Ruby Morgan of Edmonton. James Blaydes of Center, Jacob Blaydes of Center, Barbara Henry of Louisville, Elizabeth Martin of Edmonto! n; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral services for Rev. Sonnie Cordell Blaydes were conducted Monday, December 28, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Rev. Dennis Middleton officiated. Active pallbearers were Sonnie Dunbar, Tommy Stillwell, Jr., Ronald Dunbar, Tim my Stillwell, Jay Sutherland and John Stillwell. Honorary pallbearers were Milford Blaydes and Junior Dunbar. Obituaries of Green Co.
