He was a member of the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Buffalo, where he served as trustee and church treasurer from 1974-1985. He was a retired farmer, and a LaRue County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation community committeeman for several years. He is survived by his wife, Jane Skaggs Abell; a daughter, Betsy Tucker of Hodgenville; a sister, Linnie Lou Rhodes of Danville, West Virginia; a brother, Roy Lee Abell of Louisville; and two grandsons, Glenn Tucker and Mark Tucker. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 21, at the Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Rev. Carlos Compton and Rev. Roger Pepper officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery. Obituaries of Green Co.
