She was the daughter of the late Hector and Annie Frances Bryant Burton, a member of the Bearwallow United Methodist Church and a homemaker. She was married to Clem Cowan, who preceded her in death Sept. 25, 1984. Cowan is survived by five sons, James Cowan, Missouri, William Cowan and Danny Cowan, both of Louisville, and Gilbert Cowan and Kenneth Cowan, both of Columbia; four daughters, Kathleen Wilson and Pearslee Reece, both of Louisville, Frances Corbin, Columbia, and Bertha Bohannon, Cane Valley; two sisters, Mary Lee Coffey and Pearsetta Cowan, both of Columbia; two brothers, Olin Burton and Paul Burton, both of Columbia; 33 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. The funeral was at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 10 at the Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia with buri! al in the Bearwallow Cemetery. Obituaries of Green Co.
