He was married to Emma Jane Marcum in 1881. To this union was born 7 children. Namely, Margaret, Willis, Vade, Kate, Will, John and Nancy King. He professed faith in Christ and united with the Ladies Chapel Methodist Church and remained a member until death. He leaves to mourn his passing one sister, one brother, one niece and one nephew, 3 children, Will and John King, and Mrs. Nancy Curlee: six grandchildren, Mrs. Freemon [Freeman] Montgomery, Creed King, Elizabeth Curlee, Iola, Flora and Bennie King, and seven great-grandchildren, and a host of friends and loved ones.
