He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a retired supervisor having worked for the Ford Motor Company for 30 years. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the United States Marine Corps, and was a member of the VFW James Pruitt Post #5813 and the American Legion Rod Lowe Post #124. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Dilma Harrison and Lola Simpson. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Louie Mayo, Anderson, IN; two grandchildren, Gabe Elkin and Cally Elkin, both of Indiana; a step-son, Mike Simons and his mother, Wanda Simpson, both of Indiana; two step-grandchildren, Kelly Simons and Erin Whitney, both of Indiana; four brothers, Dean Simpson and Bob Simpson, both of Greensburg, Way! ne Simpson of Indiana, and Junior Simpson, Edmonton; three sisters, Florence Wyatt and Shirley Long, both of Indiana, and Joyce Akin, Greensburg; a special friend, Shelia Phillips of Green County; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial in Judd Cemetery with full military honors. Bro. William Karnes officiated. Pallbearers: Roger Wyatt, Rick Wyatt, Greg Wyatt, Chris Whicker, Alan Long, Bob Junior Simpson, Bryan Simpson, Keith Warf, and Jeff Simpson.
