Wood Paxton, daughter of the late Mr. Charlie Gupton and Mrs. Betsy Ann Lobb Gupton, was born September 30, 1910, in Green County and departed this life on Thursday, November 18, 1999, at the Green Hill Manor Nursing Home in Greensburg. She was 89 years, one month and 19 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. She united in marriage to Mr. Dallas Pruitt in March of 1940, who preceded her in death on February 7, 1962. She later united in marriage to Mr. Aubrey Paxton on October 1, 1966, who preceded her in death on January 22, 1991. She is survived by two daughters and one son: Madean Judd, Betty Sigmon McFelia, and Donnie Pruitt, all of Greensburg; one stepdaughter and three stepsons: Wanda Long of Greensburg, Charles Paxton of North Carolina, Hubert Paxton of Greensburg, and J.D. Pruitt of Greensburg; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a host of other! relatives and friends. The funeral services for Mrs. Mary C. Wood Paxton were conducted Saturday, November 20, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Neagle Cemetery. Rev. Gilbert Larimore and Rev. Daryl Jessie officiated. Active pallbearers were Ronnie Pruitt, Charles Judd, Andy Sigmon, Robbie Eastham, Mike Pruitt, Harry Kessler and Roy Pruitt. Honorary pallbearers were J.D. Pruitt, Hubert Paxton, Gleason Sullivan, Roy Lawrence Shuffett, Eddie Paxton, Joe Paxton, James Luther Paxton, Robert Paxton, Carl Perkins and Bloyd Tucker. Obituaries of Green Co. Ky.
