Powell who died in the Glasgow Hospital. Services were in charge of Rev. Towles and Rev. Claud Squires. Burial was in the church cemetery. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Powell, he was born Dec. 5, 1875, and died April 10 at the age of 76. He was married to Nellie Hudson an 1901, and to this union one son was born. His wife preceded him in death in 1905. He was later united an marriage to Hoddy Hartfield. To this union one son was born, Odene, who died in action during World War II. He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, one son, Avery Powell, one sister, Mrs. M. G. Paxton; two brothers, Fede and Tode Powell. Pallbearers were Alvie Buchanan, Oscar Paxton, Lilburn Wilkerson, Amon Hancock, Hulse Acree, and Don Hartfield. Obituaries of Green Co.
