Jack served in World War II and was recognized by President Richard Nixon for his contribution and development of the C-5A aircraft. Be was a life member of the Tennessee Aviation Association. Jack was awarded the "Charles E. Taylor" Master Mechanic Award and was listed in the National Federal Administration Museum in Washington, B.C. Survivors include his wife; Ardys V. (Gerri) Small; son and daughter-in-law: Rev. William J. and Mickie Small of Greensburg; daughters and sons-in-law: Joyce and Jerry Allen of Louisville, Linda and Larry Payne of Alcoa; daughter: Kathy Morgan of Alcoa; grandchildren: Diane and husband Richard Marsh, Debi and husband Andy .Salmon, Christie and husband James Trentham, Sandy and husband Brad Hatcher, Karen Small and Michelle Morgan; great-grandchildren: Cody and Justin Marsh, Heather Small, Kayla! Hatcher, Alexis and B rend en Morgan, Baby Trentham. Graveside services were held Tuesday, July 20, at the Sherwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Bill Small officiating. Military services were provided by the East Tennessee Honor Guard. Obituaries of Green Co. Ky.
