Author: Karen_Jorgensen Surnames: Parson, Furkins, Norris, Kendall, Classification: obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.green/17079/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Mr. Gore Hays Parson, son of the late Mr. Emmit Parson and Mrs. Lizzie Furkins Parson, was born October 11, 1913, in Green County and departed this life on Sunday, April 12, 1998, at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. He was 84 years, six months and one day of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Maple Hill United Methodist Church. He united in marriage to Miss Mazetta Norris on May 13, 1933, who survives. To this union were born three daughters and two sons: Lois Kendall, Junior Ray Parson and Wayne Parson, all of Campbellsville. He was preceded in death by Gladys Lee Parson and Marcella Parson. He is also survived by one son-in-law and two daughters-in-law: Jessie Kendall, Faye Parson and Dorothy Parson, all of Campbellsville; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, six step-grandchildren, 10 step-great-grandchildren, two step-great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other nieces, nephews a! nd other relatives and friends. The funeral services for Mr. Gore Hays Parson were conducted Tuesday, April 14, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Rev. W.D. Strader and Rev. James Huff officiated. Pallbearers were Chunk Clark, Larry Clark, Harry Kessler, Gearon Simpson, Richard Clark, Thomas Murray and H.C. Gore. Obituaries of Green Co. Ky.
