D. Parson, Sr. who died March 12 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Leland Martin, Taylor County, at the age of 75. Services held at the Greensburg Methodist Church were in charge of Reverend E. C. Sidle, assisted by Reverend C. D. Owen. Reverend John Salmon and family rendered the musical numbers. Burial was in the Milltown cemetery. He professed faith in Christ early in life and joined the Pickett Chapel Methodist Church, later moving his membership to the Greensburg Methodist Church. In 1905 he was united in marriage to Miss Lena Beard who preceded him in death in 1931, and to this union 9 children: were born. In 1932 he married Mrs. Mattie Mouser, who preceded him in death in February 1848. Surviving are 5 daughters, Mrs. Henry Akin, Mrs. Marvin Murry, Mrs. Willie Berry, Miss Madelene Parson, Mrs. Leland Martin and 4 sons, Tobe, Lawrence, O. D., Jr., and William Frank Parson. Also surviving are one brother, D. W. Parson,! Lancaster, and 7 grandchildren. Active pallbearers were R. P. Van Cleave, Wallace Shirley, Frank Martin, Robert Davenport, Everet Berry, Willard Paxton. Honorary pallbearers were L. B. Rucker, Proctor Lemons, John Allie Blades, Albert Smith, A. L. Stubbs, Beckham Judd. Dowie Judd, Marvin Brown, Elmer Colvin. Obituaries of Green Co.
