Purtscher, Peoria, Illinois, died at 6:39 a.m. Tuesday, September 17,1996, at his residence. He was born November 18, 1910, in Hart County to Willie T. and Effie Druen Osborne. He married Delora Gail Howard on November 9, 1940, in Peoria, Illinois. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Terry (Vivian) Jacobs of Royal Oak, Michigan, and Mrs. Ron (Carol) Dodson of Morton, Illinois; also one sister, Mrs. Merlin (Doyne) Goodrich of Roodhouse, Illinois; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. He was a World War II Navy Veteran. He was a machine operator at Caterpillar for 38 years, until 1972. He then worked at PA Bergners as a customer service van driver for eight years until he retired. These employments were both in Peoria, Illinois. He was a member of the American Legion Post #2 in Peoria, Illinois, and was of the Baptist faith. He and his wife were avid campers ! at Kentuckiana in Mackinaw, Illinois, for many years. Services were held Friday, September 20, at Cumerford-Endsley-Diggle Funeral Home in Peoria, Illinois. Burial was in the Swan Lake Memory Garden in Peoria.
