He was 79 years, 10 months and 25 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Greensburg Masonic Lodge #54 F&AM. He united in marriage to Miss Gladys Kessler on December 29, 1939, who survives. To this union was born one son: David Simmons Pierce of Campbellsville. He is also survived by a daughter-in-law: Donna Pierce of Campbellsville; two grandchildren and a grand-son-in-law: Mary Tena and Larry Smith of Campbellsville and David Bronson Pierce of Campbellsville; three great-grandchildren: Malorie Smith, Morgan Smith and Tommy Lee Pierce, all of Campbellsville; a step-mother: Gladys Bruce Pierce of Louisville; and a host of other relative! s and friends. The funeral services for Mr. Simmons Pierce were conducted Monday, November 29, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Rev. Robert Morris, Rev. J. Alvin Hardy and Rev. Travis Keltner officiated. Masonic Rites services by the Greensburg Masonic Lodge #54 F&AM were conducted Sunday at the funeral home. Active Pallbearers were Harry Kessler, Robert Kessler, Bronson Pierce, Malcolm Kessler, Nicky Durham, Wendell Hancock, Raymond Pierce, Phillip Carter, Billy Hancock and Donald Kessler. Honorary pallbearers were E.B. Squires, Gearon Simpson, Carl Perkins and Danny Rodgers. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Mt.
