Son of the late Sam and Nellie Jane Gaddie Ford, he was born on May 17, 1937, in Green County. He was a member of Mt Union Baptist Church and was a disabled retired farmer. He was married to Odessa Embry Ford, who survives. Survivors also include a son, Kendall Ford of Campbellsville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mardena and Steve Compton of Summersville, Ky., and Cassandra Embree of Hodgenville, Ky.; five brothers, David Ford, Frank Ford and Tom Ford, all of Campbellsville, Leo Ford of Indianapolis, Ind., and Marshall "Mont" Ford of Greensburg; two sisters, Dorothy Ford of Campbellsville and Helen King of Elizabethtown, Ky.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Ford and Mary Catherine Ford. Funeral was Wednesday, Jan. 23 at Mt. Union Baptist Church in Green County.! The Revs. Mikie Ash and Andre Calhoun officiated. Burial was in Mt. Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Nathan Williams, Kelvin Ford, Robert June Williams, Wayne Williams, Uzell Ford and Darrell Embry. Honorary pallbearers were Shakeisha Compton, Demarcus Compton, Alex Compton, Mitchell Embree, Shatonia Lackey and Tela Embree.
