Daughter of the late Wayne Lile and Ida Oakes Lile, she was born on Oct. 4, 1922 in Green County. She was a member of Greasy Creek Baptist Church and the Truth Seekers Sunday school class. She was also a member of the Exie Homemakers as well as a former employee at Fruit of the Loom Inc., where she worked as a machine operator. She was married to Amos Kessler on June 10, 1939. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1988. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Tommy VanArsdale of Greensburg and Becky and Ed Bell of Edmonton, Ky.; three grandchildren and their spouses, Cricket and Paul Smith of Greensburg, Frank and Dana Bell of Auburn, Ky., and Joshua and Malia Bell of Stamping Ground, Ky.; five great-grandchildren, Paul Thomas Smith and Sydney Smith, both of Greensburg, Josh Bell and Molly Bell, both of Auburn, and Dunc! an Bell of Stamping Ground; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Edith Squires of Greensburg, Clydene and Jr. Bagby of Campbellsville and Ann and Tom Mahoney of Elizabethtown, Ky.; and a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Barbara Lile of Greensburg. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Joe Price Bell; a brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Dorothy Lile; and a brother-in-law, Russell Squires. Funeral was Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial was in the Greasy Creek Cemetery. Bros. Landon Hadley, Wilburn Bonta and Kevin Brantley officiated. The family has requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Green Hill Relay for Life Team or Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home. Pallbearers were Frank Bell, Josh Bell, Tim Thomas, Joshua Bell, Paul Smith and Paul Thomas Smith.
