Daughter of the late George Walker and Gaynell Franklin Walker Figg, she was born on Oct. 28, 1925 in Green County, Ky. Howard had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a retired machine operator for Fruit of the Loom Inc. She as married to George Robert Howard on Nov. 9, 1941. He preceded her in death in April 1989. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and Lew Edwards of Greensburg; a son and daughter-in-law, Robbie and Teresa Howard of Vine Grove, Ky.; four grandchildren, Erik Edwards of Louisville, Ky., Kasey Gordon and her husband Blake of Greensburg, Bernie Howard and his wife Ellen of Bowling Green, Ky., and John Howard and his wife Andrea of Vine Grove; seven great-grandchildren, Zane Tyce Edwards, Bileigh Rae Gordon and Sami Jo Gordon, all of Greensburg, Jackson Gage Edwards of Louisville, Emery Howard of Bowling Green ! and Mason Howard and Landree Howard, both of Vine Grove; a sister and brother-in-law, Laverne and Billy Gumm of Greensburg; and a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Peggy Walker of Campbellsville. Funeral was Tuesday, Feb. 5 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg with burial in the Fry Cemetery. Bro. Bobby Walker and Bro. Brian Rafferty officiated. The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the family burial fund, which can be made at the funeral home. Pallbearers were John Howard, Bernie Howard, Blake Gordon, Erik Edwards, Morgan McCullough and Billy Joe Gumm. Honorary pallbearers were her great-grandchildren.
