Son of the late Nearce Milby and Sarah Lee Madden Milby, he was born on Oct. 22, 1922, in Green County, Ky. He was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church, a farmer, former Green County magistrate, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of V.F.W James Pruitt #5813. He was married to Athol Bernice Sallee on Dec. 24, 1945. She survives. Survivors also include three sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur and Brenda Milby of Louisville, Ky., Boyce Phillip Jr. and Wilma Milby of Summersville and Roger and Celia Milby of Louisville; a brother, Roy Milby of Summersville; two sisters, Alva Morrison and Dixie Marcum, both of Summersville; a step mother-in-law, Ruth Sallee of Campbellsville; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Arvin Milby, Henry Milby, Brady Mil! by, Bryant Milby and Freeman Milby; and five sisters, Ruth Milby, Gladys Marr, Sarah Loyall, Carrie Milby and Opal Campbell. Funeral was Tuesday, Jan.29 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Bros. Leslie Jewell, Otis Clell Skaggs and Floyd Deloach and Greg Milby officiated. Burial was in Green County Memory Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the family burial fund and can be made at the funeral home. Pallbearers were Mike Milby, Chris Milby, Greg Milby, Derrick Milby, Bob Boog and Joseph Mattingly. Honorary pallbearers were Holland Hedgespeth, Pete Vaughn, Les Williamson, Loy Hart, Randal Creason and Holly Grove Men's Sunday school class.
