Elmore Sr., 76, of R.R. 1, New Berlin, died Thursday in Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital, Greensburg, Ky. Mr. Elmore was born Feb. 27, 1910, in Allensville, Ky., the son of Cordial and Ella Marcum Elmore. He married Velma Stephens in 1933 and was preceded in death by his parents and two grandsons. Mr. Elmore was a member of Cherry Hills Baptist Church and was a Sunday school teacher for more than 50 years. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and was a lifelong farmer retiring in 1980. Surviving are his wife, Velma; four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Evelyn) Fulton and Mrs. Dennis (Barbara) Mumaw, both of New Berlin, Mrs. Gary (Donna) Ogden of Shelbyville, and Mrs. Robert (Patricia) Bartel of Springfield; one son, G. Wesley Elmore Jr. of New Berlin; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Mary Nichols of Loami and Jeanetta Wear of White Hall; and one brother, George Lewis of Orlando, Fla. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at McCullough Funeral Home, New Berlin, with the ! Rev. Gary Nelsen officiating. Burial will be in Old Salem Cemetery.
