A Thompson in the Brush Creek section near Liberty Baptist Church. Straley was crop dusting when his light plane struck a tree, crashing nose-first into the ground and flopping over. It Immediately caught fire. Straley's body, badly mangled was burned beyond recognition when the gasoline tank and the chemical he was using exploded. Surviving are his mother, Mrs Ruby Hill Straley, Mount Sherman his father, W. L. Straley, Hodgenville; his stepmother; a half-brother W. L. Straley, Jr., Campbellsville, and his grandfathers, John Straley, Louisville, and Jesse Hill, Mount Sherman. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Hodgenville Baptist Church with burial in Mount Moriah Baptist Church cemetery. Obituaries of Green Co.
