He was joined in holy matrimony on Dec. 23. 1885 to Ida Heizer Moore. To this union four sons were born, Hugh, Clement, Ernest and Craddock. All survive him except his wife. He professed faith in Christ at the age of 16, joined Ebenezer church and lived a faithful member, generously supporting the church and pastors, and attending as long as his health permitted. His life was that of a true Christian, quietly lived, full of kind deeds and friendly advice to others. His last illness and suffering was borne with quiet patience as he looked skyward waiting the call to come home. Besides his four sons, he leaves three half-sisters, Mrs. Emma Hudson, Mrs. May Hay, and Mrs. Sudie Shirrell; 1 half-brother, Woody Paxton; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild and a host of friends and relatives, saddened at his passing. Funeral s! ervices were conducted by his pastor, Rev. Loperfido with burial in the Rollingburg cem. Obituaries of Green Co.
