He was the son of the late William Thomas and Nora Ethel DeSpain Skaggs. He was married to Nellie Louise Skaggs, who preceded him in death. Survivors include three daughters, Linda Thompson of Greensburg and Juanita Nelson and Teresa Smith, both of Campbellsville; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters, Boyce Skaggs, Brown Skaggs, Ann Lee, Mattie Bell and Effie Skaggs. Funeral was Friday, May 2 at Lyon DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel in Campbellsville. Burial was in Taylors Chapel Church Cemetery. Bros. Twyman Davis and Mark Price officiated. Pallbearers were Sean Nelson, Shane Nelson, Corey Smith, Brett Huff, Trevor Calhoun and Gary Wayne Calhoun. Honorary pallbearers were Ron King! , Syndal Nelson, Tom Akin, Joe Wise, Gary Calhoun, Jimmy R. Skaggs, Colby Thompson, Andrew Milby and Bobby Joe Burress.
