He was 48 years, eight months and one day of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church at the time of his death. Mr. Pierce was a resident of Jeffersonville, Indiana and operated a tree service there. He united in marriage to Miss Elois Jeffries August 13, 1947, who survives. To this union were born six sons and three daughters: Roger Dale, Lany Coleman, Douglas Wayne, Arnie Lee, Donnie Lewis, Doyd Eugene Pierce, Mrs. Connie Sue Biller and Miss Lois Marie Pierce all of Jeffersonville, Indiana; and Mrs. Mildred Faye Little, Louisville. Mr. Pierce is also survived by six sisters: Mrs. Ruby Rogers, Mrs. Walta Mae Wright and Mrs. Virginia Herald all of Louisville; Mrs. Margar! et Rogers, Chicago; Mrs. Cozetta Snow and Mrs. Pansy Pierce, both of Greensburg; three brothers: Lillard and Dillard Pierce, Shelbyville, Indiana; and Howard Pierce, Florida; five grandchildren and host of other relatives and friends. The remains were at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of funeral services at 1 p.m. CDT Sunday, October 21, 1973 the Union Chapel Baptist Church with burial in the family cemetery. Revs. Ernest Milby and M. J. Logsdon officiated. Pallbearers were: Grover McKinney, Leo Curry, Mitchell Jewries. Bobby Pruitt, Mickey Pruitt. Obituaries of Green Co. Ky.
